| I highly doubt it's JA+, it's probably just meant to look like it... also I think the 1.3 gig download is probably KotF which is one to avoid and the reason it's so large is because it contains the entire JK3 assets. |

No its japlus lol, all you have to do is look in the console, its all japlus, somehow edited. aminfo was all the same, except it said "UAGALAXY JAPLUS, BY SLIDER" (i wasn't aware slider made this?) and i tried to do an autodownload, and it said "trying to download ua.japlus" and it also says japlus when you look in server info(not to mention the gameplay when you actually go in , and play) you dont need to download anything to play, i think it just has alot of extras, and other things i think they did theyre not suppose to do. |

i need to provide some explanations.
i never made a special version of JA+ for some clans except the beta tested version...
Some clans wanted to test my beta things
but it was the same version as the one i had installed in my own servers...
i think they just edidited he binary of JA+ to include things...
But i am not responsible for any damages it could cause. |

Hi, guys. I am here to make all clear.
I am director of largest Ukranian JA Community - UAGalaxy.
Year ago I asked Slider to give me the source codes of JAPlus mod. But dear author of JA+ rejects for some reasons
It was very hard, but I found a decision how to unite different mods, and take JA+ mod as a base to our modification. There many things added in our mod: authorization system, huge punish system (such as silence to ip), money system, couter strike gametype, buying weapons, strengh rating caltulating (here is top-100 players: http://jedi.com.ua/static/rating.html) etc.
However if dear Slider will be so nice to give us source codes, we would create more and more interesting things, rather than CS server.
Besides that in not so far future, we will translate game strings and web-site to other europenian languages, including English of course.
So, Slider, my ask is in force anyway, we will be very glad to modernize the best Star Wars game further!
Anyway all ukranian ja+ players are very thankful to Slider for creating the best mod of JediAcademy! |

It's possible they used something like QMM (Quake 3 Multi-Mod) which allows you to code custom "plug-ins" that can work with other mods. Basically, the server loads QMM first, which then loads up its plugins, but then it passes to the original mod you intended (like JA+), so you have one mod that loads another and acts like it, but also loads custom plugins that can include new features and commands.
Even if they didn't use QMM exactly, they may have simply developed a similar methodology to load JA+ with an extra DLL from within a larger wrapper. At least that is how I would do it (if I knew C ).
Though I gotta say... it would be really nice if Slider released the JA+ source... |

Dan Mor,
i realize it may have been difficult to edit JA+ binary and add customs features...
I am more and more inclined to release JA+ source code to let other dev team continue this work..
indeed i am too old now (30 years old ) lol
my life is quite time consuming and i lack time to continue...
Before to release anything, i will probably release a last JA+ version that includes all the last fixes i made that are available in my servers if you play onto it.
I am afraid of new coders taking the JA+ source code to create more harm in the community than good feature...
that's so easy to take JA+ source code and create abusive things....
Also it's kind of, JA+ is like my child...
it's awlays hard to let your child leaving home you know |

Lol Slider, never knew you were 30!
But Slider, couldn't you choose some (ofcourse, good) coders, and let them continue the mod, but only release after you give permission for that or somethin? In that way they can continue the mod and you could always keep an eye out for bad stuff for JA+ (such as implenting slay again) O_o. |

I think, Slider, it is not hard to give source codes to team, that have developed some popular and nice things already and will go on with new improvements.
But I understand, that it is hard to give other rights to make new official release under the name "JA+" because, as you have said JA+ is your own child.
But UAGalaxy is not encroach on ownership of "JA+". I propose to give rigths nobody to make new releases of offical JA+. But I ask to give possibility make branch-mods of JA+. As are differend mods based on original JA, such can be based on JA+.
For example: UAGalaxy takes your permission for releases "JA+UAG". This mod will have own version history not related to versions of JA+. In description will be allways mentioned, that JA+UAG based on JA+ engine by Slider. How you see this idea? |

well why not... hehe
i think i will release the last version of JA+...
and then i will stop coding in the JKA community.
But i will still be available to awnser question of the coding community.
i think i will not tolerate to release a mod under the name JA+
the last version of JA+ will be always mine.
There will be rules to use the source code like including the readme and all the documentation of the last version of JA+ in the release of other mods.
for me it's ok to use a name like JA+UAG v1.X
now i didn't choose if i release the source code of the JA+ engine for the community as standard source code for any future developement. OR if i release it for just one coder
so let's see...
i will think about it and perhaps i will release the code...
not sure yet
